Electrical Drafter / Junior Electrical Engineer

Freezer Engineering, LLC Location: Englewood, CO or Houston, TX Employment Type: Full-Time

About Freezer Engineering

Freezer Engineering, LLC is a specialized engineering firm serving the oil, gas, and chemical industries. We design modular skid-based process systems, industrial power distribution, instrumentation and controls, and medium voltage electrical solutions for clients across North America. Our team works on fast-paced, high-impact projects from concept through field commissioning.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Drafter or Junior Electrical Engineer to support our electrical design team on skid-based and facility-scale projects for oil, gas, and chemical industry clients. This role is well-suited to someone with strong AutoCAD skills who wants to build a career in industrial electrical design, whether coming from a drafting background or early in an engineering career.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain electrical drawings in AutoCAD (Electrical), including one-line diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable/conduit schedules
Support electrical design for power distribution, instrumentation, and controls systems on modular skid-based process equipment
Translate engineering markups, redlines, and P&IDs into accurate, well-organized drawing packages
Maintain drawing revision control and ensure consistency with company title block and documentation standards
Assist with equipment lists, bill of materials (BOM), and cable/conduit schedules
Coordinate with senior engineers, project managers, and field personnel to ensure drawings reflect current design intent
Support as-built documentation following field commissioning and startup
Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior staff

Qualifications

Required:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical strongly preferred
Strong understanding of electrical drafting conventions, symbols, and standards
Associate's degree, technical certificate, or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on drafting experience)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously
Effective written and verbal communication skills
US Citizenship required

Preferred:

Prior experience in oil, gas, chemical, or industrial process industries
Familiarity with medium voltage (MV) electrical systems and power distribution
Understanding of NEC code requirements
Experience with skid-based or modular process equipment design
