Full Job Description

Echo Tech Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound: 111 mode, two dimensional ultrasound contrast diagnostic ultrasound and bubble studies.
Perform cardiac pulsed and continuous wave ultrasound doppler to identify and characterize intracardiac blood flow patterns.
Perform transesophageal cardiac ultrasound.
Perform stress echocardiography (exercise or phannacologica).
Knowledge of the equipment, standard tests and procedures, and typical readings including arrhythmias and abnormalities.
Knowledge of typical patient reactions and signs of distress including the ability to recognize, report and treat potentially lethal arrhythmias.
Knowledge of common equipment settings and standardized procedures plus knowledge of common errors and corrective measures.
Modify procedures/positions to obtain the correct results with patients with complicating conditions such as amputations, Parkinson’s disease, structural defects, and scar tissue.
Act as a mentor or preceptor to lower graded technicians.
Conduct inservice training on the ECHO equipment and related instrumentation.

Requirements:

Education: Graduate from a cardiovascular technologist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Joint Review Committee in Cardiovascular Technology (JRCCVT).
Experience: Minimum twoyear experience in specialty.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
License: Have and maintain a valid, unrestricted license in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S and/or certification as required. Registered as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) as determined by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).Responsibilities:

- Perform diagnostic evaluations using sonography equipment
- Follow aseptic technique and maintain a sterile environment during procedures
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy to accurately identify structures and abnormalities
- Monitor vital signs of patients during procedures
- Conduct sonography examinations to assess various body systems, including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and cardiac
- Assist with cardiac catheterization procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures performed
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care

Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer
- Proficient in performing a wide range of sonography examinations
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and physiology
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of sonography equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
