Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Echo Tech (Echocardiography Technologist) for a travel assignment to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves performing advanced echocardiographic procedures and diagnostic evaluations to assist cardiologists and other medical professionals in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of cardiac imaging, physiology, and medical equipment operation, ensuring high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient outcomes while gaining valuable experience in various healthcare environments.

Location: Lihue, Hawaii
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Rotating Shift (AM or PM; no set rotation, PM-heavy schedule)
Weekly Pay: $3,310.00

Position Summary

The Echo Tech is responsible for performing high-quality cardiac ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. The technologist will operate echocardiography equipment, obtain diagnostic-quality images, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.

Key Responsibilities

Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and other cardiac ultrasound procedures as ordered.
Obtain accurate diagnostic images and measurements according to departmental protocols.
Review patient history and clinical information prior to examinations.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Communicate effectively with cardiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and patients.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
Follow facility, state, and federal regulations regarding patient care and safety.
Participate in rotating AM/PM shifts based on department needs.

Required Certifications

All certifications must be current and submitted at the time of application.

Preferred certifications include:

ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR
CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association

Required License

Active Hawaii State License (if applicable per facility requirement)
License must be in hand at the time of submission

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program.
Previous experience as an Echo Tech in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
Proficiency in performing echocardiography studies independently.
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound principles.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Assignment Requirements

Maximum of 5 days RTO (Requested Time Off) permitted on initial assignments
Rotating shift schedule; travelers may work either AM or PM shifts with no set rotation
Most traveler schedules are PM-heavy
All required certifications must be active
Required license must be active and in hand
