Full Job Description

Schools work best when families feel informed, welcomed, and connected. At Shenandoah Community School District, strong relationships with families and the community are an important part of helping students succeed.

The Family Engagement Manager helps strengthen those connections by making sure communication stays clear, families have the support they need, and opportunities for involvement are easy to access.

This role is about building relationships and making things easier for families. It may involve helping answer questions, coordinating outreach efforts, gathering feedback, and working with different teams to make sure families feel heard and supported.

The right person for this role enjoys working with people, understands the importance of trust, and knows that small improvements in communication can make a big difference.

What you’ll be doing

Build positive relationships with students, families, and community members
Help improve communication between the district and families
Support family outreach programs and engagement initiatives
Coordinate information, resources, and updates for families
Gather feedback and help identify ways to improve family experiences
Work with school teams to support consistent communication
Help connect families with available school and community resources
Maintain organized records of outreach activities and engagement efforts

What we’re looking for

Experience in education, community outreach, student services, nonprofit work, or relationship-focused roles
Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with different groups of people
Organized and dependable with strong follow-through
Comfortable working independently and collaborating with school teams
Patient, approachable, and able to handle sensitive conversations professionally
Someone who genuinely enjoys helping families feel supported
