Full Job Description

Electrical Design Engineer

Oconomowoc, WI | On-site

We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and development of electrical systems for Sentry products. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow hands-on design skills while working closely with manufacturing, service, and experienced engineers.

What You’ll Do

Analyze new and existing products for design feasibility, reliability, and manufacturability
Create and refine electrical system designs and drawings using SolidWorks Electrical
Prepare drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), IOM manuals, and technical documentation
Apply applicable electrical codes and standards (NEMA, ATEX, ANSI, API, CSA, CE, CRN, as required)
Support testing and debugging of products in the shop
Manage multiple projects while meeting schedules and design requirements
Collaborate with manufacturing and other departments to resolve issues and implement Engineering Changes
Take ownership of assigned work while learning Sentry’s products and processes

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Some exposure to electrical design in an industrial environment preferred
Experience or coursework involving:
- Wiring techniques and electrical schematics
- Analog and digital circuit design
- Electrical codes (NEC, UL 508A, CE)
- Basic PLC (ladder logic) or microprocessor programming
Ability to read and interpret EWDs, P&IDs, and technical drawings
Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office
Strong communication, organization, and technical writing skills
Team-oriented mindset with a strong ownership mentality
