Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Earth Space Science Teacher/Tutor to inspire students' curiosity about the universe, planets, stars, and the fundamental principles of space science. This role involves delivering engaging lessons, developing comprehensive curricula, and utilizing innovative learning technologies to foster a deep understanding of earth and space sciences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education, possess excellent classroom management skills, and be dedicated to working with diverse student populations, including children, adolescents, and adult learners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of scientists, engineers, and explorers through dynamic instruction and personalized tutoring.

Duties

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover topics such as astronomy, planetary science, astrophysics, geology, meteorology, and related fields.
Utilize advanced learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to reinforce concepts in earth science, space science, mathematics (including algebra, geometry, calculus), and related STEM disciplines.
Design curriculum materials that incorporate current scientific research and real-world applications in space exploration and earth sciences.
Manage classroom environments effectively to promote positive behavior and active participation from students of all ages.
Assess student progress through tests, projects, presentations, and discussions; provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons integrating biology (microbiology, genetics), chemistry (organic chemistry, biochemistry), physics (mechanics, thermodynamics), and computer science topics like data structures or machine learning where relevant.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Earth Science, Astronomy, Physics, Education or a related STEM field; advanced degrees preferred.
Proven classroom experience teaching earth or space sciences at various educational levels; experience with special education or early childhood education is a plus.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development principles and familiarity with current educational standards in science teaching.
Proficiency with learning technology platforms and digital tools for virtual or hybrid instruction.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with children, students with special needs, adult learners, and colleagues.
Demonstrated expertise in subjects such as trigonometry, differential equations, statistics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy knowledge, electrical engineering concepts, mechanical engineering fundamentals, data structures in computer science, micro/molecular biology including microbiology and genetics.
Skills in classroom management and lesson planning that foster an engaging learning environment.
