We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires an eye for detail and the ability to think critically and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineering Technician ensures adherence to established Quality procedures, practices, and methods that validate manufactured and purchased parts, components and systems meet documented requirements.

Responsibilities:

Utilize engineering drawings, specifications, BOM’s or other documents to develop, document, and execute inspection requirements of materials, parts, assemblies, or systems to support the Machine Shop
Create fixtures and CMM programs to support inspection requirements.
Utilize engineering drawings, electrical schematics, BOM’s and other documents as required.
Perform routine inspection and testing of products and processes.
Conducting audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
Collaborating with product development teams to ensure quality is maintained throughout the production process.
Identifying areas of quality improvement and proposing solutions.
Documenting Quality Assurance activities and creating reports for management.
Recommend, requisition, and manage calibration of Inspection gages
Train production personnel to execute inspection requirements
Identifying and setting quality benchmarks.
Developing and implementing quality control system checks.
Initiating and leading quality improvement teams.
Ensuring compliance with legal, industry, and organizational standards and regulations.
Investigating and addressing customer complaints regarding quality

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Able to read, understand and communicate the English language, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate technical information and findings to multiple roles in the organization.
Detailed oriented, process focused, and data driven.
Able to prioritize and process requests with little supervision.
Proficient use of computers and MS Office applications in a Windows environment.
Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
Basic understanding of GD&T.
Proficient in precision inspection equipment use such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, hard gaging, optical comparators, etc.
Proficient use and programming of DCC CMMs. Hexagon PC-DMIS preferred.
Working knowledge of the PPAP process.
Working knowledge of machining, fabrication, and electro-mechanical manufacturing processes.
Working knowledge of gage requisition and calibration processesRequired

Required Experience and Education

High school diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years of experience in technical quality role based in manufacturing.
Basic knowledge of quality processes

Preferred Skills and Education:

Certified Quality Technician or Quality Engineering from ASQ of similar.
Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
Working knowledge of, or experience with APQP quality processes.
Working knowledge of, or experience with SPC.
Working knowledge of, or experience in an ISO:9001 environment

Physical Requirements:

Required to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and will regularly lift up to 25 pounds.
The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use foot/feet to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and reach above shoulders
Will regularly talk, listen, and move from place to place and will frequently use hands to finger, handle, or touch.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus and use of computers and testing
