Scope of Responsibility:
This role serves as a business unit leader for the Solar/IBeam business, with end-to-end accountability for profitability, market growth, and operational alignment. The position integrates commercial strategy, product management, and manufacturing execution to drive competitive advantage and sustained financial performance.
The role is responsible for defining and executing the go-to-market strategy, ensuring alignment between customer demand, sales execution, engineering capabilities, and multi-site manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties:

Own product line P&L performance, including pricing, margin optimization, cost analysis, and overall financial outcomes

Lead and continuously improve the go-to-market strategy, enabling sales growth and market expansion

Define market strategy and competitive positioning through industry analysis, customer insights, and market share tracking

Drive commercial excellence by developing tools, processes, and the Commercial Playbook; enable and train sales and rep channels

Partner with manufacturing to align demand, capacity, and operational capabilities across multiple facilities
-
Lead program management for all Solar/Beam projects, ensuring cross-functional execution and delivery

Oversee pricing strategy and cost-to-serve analysis, integrating materials, engineering, and operational inputs into decision-making

Drive forecast accuracy and S&OP alignment to support supply chain commitments

Lead new product development and launch execution (NPI) from business case through commercialization

Develop and execute marketing programs and messaging aligned to the company’s value proposition

Ensure effective use of data, systems (Epicor), and analytics tools to drive decision-making and performance tracking
P&L Ownership & Business Performance

Own product line profitability, including pricing, margins, cost structure, and overall financial performance

Develop and execute annual and long-term growth strategies

Establish KPIs and performance tracking across commercial and operational functions

Drive disciplined decision-making using data, analytics, and financial insights
Market Share:

Define market strategy through industry analysis, customer insights, and competitive intelligence

Identify growth opportunities and develop strategic responses

Monitor and actively manage market share performance, implementing countermeasures when gaps exist

Position the organization to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage
Commercial Excellence & Go-to-Market Leadership

Develop and continuously improve the go-to-market strategy for the Solar/IBeam segment

Lead the design and deployment of the Commercial Playbook, including:

- Customer segmentation

Quoting and pricing frameworks

Sales processes and gating mechanisms
-
SWOT and deal strategy tools
- Partner with Sales to ensure effective execution and adoption

Train and enable direct sales and rep channels on value proposition and product positioning
Manufacturing & Operations Integration

Align commercial strategy with manufacturing capabilities across three fabrication and galvanizing facilities

Ensure demand planning supports S&OP and supply chain commitments

Optimize decision-making by leveraging plant-specific capabilities during quoting and production planning

Partner with operations to drive efficiency, lead time improvements, and cost optimization
Program & Project Leadership

Lead program management for all Solar/Beam projects across facilities
-
Ensure coordination across engineering, operations, and commercial teams
-
Maintain accurate system tracking and reporting through Epicor (ERP)
Pricing, Margin & Cost-to-Serve Optimization
-
Develop and implement tools to manage price realization and margin performance
-
Conduct cost-to-serve and profitability analysis by customer
-
Integrate materials strategy into pricing decisions
-
Drive automation and improved utilization of quoting and analytics tools
-
Understand and utilize each individual plant’s operational and engineering capabilities to make the best decisions during the quoting/proposal process
New Product Development:
Using information from the market, customers and competitors, develop the rationale to support new product development

Develop and lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) Process

Develop the business case and associated Marketing Plan to support new product launches and justification
-
Validate the needs for new structures development related to industry trends
Marketing Programs:
-
Develop and execute marketing programs aligned to the value proposition

Define and standardize the selling message across channels
-
Build a library of case studies and technical proof points
-
Act as a market leader internally, guiding engineering, operations, and leadership teams
-
Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.
Position Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related business area – engineering degree preferred.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience across commercial, operations, product, or engineering roles– Solar business experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.

Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
