We are looking for a creative Mechanical Engineer to work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, customer acceptance and after sale support. This position is for an experienced Mechanical Engineer supporting the Support & Test Equipment (STE) team. Primary tasks will be developing mechanical design solutions to a variety of problems including structures, pneumatics, hydraulics, tooling, fixtures and hands on troubleshooting.
Tasks will involve new designs or modifications to existing designs. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with mechanical, electrical, controls, software and manufacturing engineers. Additionally this candidate will support internal customers: sales, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality.
All mechanical structure and tooling designs are created in SolidWorks. The candidate must be able to use this platform or have existing experience with another solid modeling platform and be able to create solid models and sheet metal flat patterns from customer supplied 2D design packages. In addition to mechanical structure designs all hydraulic and pneumatic schematics are generated in AutoCAD 2D format. The candidate will also be required to produce data in report format to validate all critical designs prior to manufacture to support internal and customer review.
The responsibility of this position is managing specialized work efficiently, with above average attention to details. The position requires well thought out execution of proven design concepts combined with the ability to quickly adapt as conditions require.
