Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Design Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures that meet the needs of our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of our network systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer networking and a passion for innovative technology solutions.

Duties

There is a 25% continental US travel requirement for this position – this travel will ebb, and flow based on business requirements.

Preferred Candidates:

Strong implementation and troubleshooting enterprise wireless experience (preferably Cisco Meraki)
Extensive implementation and troubleshooting experience w/ SD-WAN technologies.
Remote site network connectivity build experience in green / brown field deployments.
Strong senior level network engineer that has experience in owning and delivering enterprise-level connectivity solutions

· Required Experience:

Demonstrated proficiency in implementing / managing enterprise wireless networks.
Enterprise level experience with Meraki Wireless authentication integration (ISE / Radius)
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve wireless issues.
Enterprise-level implementation and troubleshooting experience with SD-WAN solutions (any vendor) with a focus on remote branches / sites
Demonstrated proficiency in 802.1x authentication implementation and troubleshooting (cisco / meraki)
Utilize routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS for efficient data flow.
Manage IP networking tasks including DHCP, DNS, LDAP, GPOs, and NFS configurations.
Cisco ASA Firewalls / F5 LTM / Cisco WAAS is a bonus
Understanding enterprise change control processes as well as ITIL methodologies
Experience using network analysis, management and performance monitoring tools to plan for growth, diagnose problems and determining traffic patterns.
Planning implementations, building comprehensive test plans, troubleshooting methodologies, and Cisco design framework.
Stay updated on emerging technologies in cloud security (AWS, Azure) and virtualization (VMware).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Proven experience in network engineering with a strong understanding of computer networking principles.
Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows, macOS, and UNIX variants (BSD, Solaris).
Proficient in network protocols including TCP/IP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, SSH, SSL.
Experience with system administration tasks and DevOps practices is preferred.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies to enhance project delivery efficiency.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess vulnerabilities within the network infrastructure.
