ABOUT CHARGESMART EV:
ChargeSmart EV is looking to hire an AI/Automation Engineer to help implement our internal AI rollout and build practical automations across the company.
This role will focus heavily on tools and systems such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, OpenAI API, Anthropic API, Microsoft 365, Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Monday.com, and similar integration/automation platforms.
We are looking for someone who can understand our day-to-day business processes, identify where work is being repeated manually, and build reliable AI-assisted workflows, automations, integrations, and internal tools that save the team time.
This is not just a prompt-writing role. The right person should be comfortable connecting systems, working with APIs, building Microsoft 365 workflows, testing automations, documenting processes, and helping non-technical employees use AI tools effectively.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
ChargeSmart EV is looking to hire an AI/Automation Engineer to help lead and implement our internal AI rollout, workflow automation, and process streamlining efforts.
This role is ideal for someone who is both technical and operationally minded. We are not looking for someone who only experiments with AI tools. We are looking for a practical builder who can understand how our business works, identify inefficient processes, and create reliable automations, AI workflows, dashboards, internal tools, and integrations that actually save time for the team.
The AI/Automation Engineer will work closely with leadership, sales, operations, project management, support, and administrative teams to evaluate current workflows and build systems that improve how ChargeSmart EV operates day to day.
You should be comfortable working with APIs, AI tools, workflow automation platforms, CRMs, spreadsheets, databases, internal documentation, and business-process mapping. You should also be able to explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical team members.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving messy real-world business problems, building useful tools quickly, improving systems over time, and making sure automations are reliable before they are rolled out company-wide.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate current workflows and identify opportunities for AI, automation, and process improvement.
- Build, test, and maintain automations across internal systems such as CRM, project management tools, email, spreadsheets, forms, databases, and file/document workflows.
- Create AI-assisted workflows for sales, operations, project coordination, customer support, reporting, and administrative tasks.
- Develop internal AI tools, assistants, prompts, templates, knowledge bases, and repeatable workflows.
- Integrate business systems using APIs, webhooks, automation platforms, scripts, and middleware tools.
- Build workflows using tools such as Make, Zapier, n8n, Power Automate, Airtable, Monday.com, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or similar platforms.
- Create internal documentation, SOPs, training materials, and usage guides.
- Help employees adopt new AI and automation workflows in a practical, easy-to-understand way.
- Add safeguards, review steps, error handling, and fallback processes so automations are reliable before company-wide rollout.
- Monitor automation performance and troubleshoot broken workflows, failed integrations, or inaccurate AI outputs.
- Assist with CRM cleanup, reporting workflows, pipeline visibility, task automation, and sales/operations handoffs.
- Recommend AI tools, automation platforms, and software improvements that can improve company efficiency.
- Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Hands-on experience building real business automations, AI workflows, internal tools, or process-improvement systems.
- Experience with AI tools such as Claude (Code, Cowork, Chat), ChatGPT/Codex, OpenAI API, Anthropic API, or similar platforms.
- Experience with automation platforms such as n8n, Zapier, Make, Power Automate, UiPath, or similar tools.
- Ability to work with APIs, webhooks, structured data, forms, spreadsheets, CRMs, and databases.
- Experience with Monday.com, Sitetracker/Salesforce-style systems, EV charging network platforms, construction/project tracking tools, Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) or similar systems is strongly preferred.
- Prefer experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or Google Apps Script.
- Strong understanding of prompt design, structured outputs, AI workflow design, and human-in-the-loop review processes.
- Ability to map business processes, identify bottlenecks, and convert manual workflows into repeatable systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to test automations before deployment.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members.
- Strong documentation skills.
- High attention to detail, especially when working with customer data, project information, reporting, and internal systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and manage multiple automation requests at once.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
