Full Job Description

Our client is seeking a Lab Informatics Business Analyst to join their team. As a Lab Informatics Business Analyst, you will be part of the Data Foundation support team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Lab Informatics Business Analyst

Location:Remote

What's the Job?

Engage with lab scientists, QA, compliance teams, and lab IT/system owners to elicit detailed requirements for lab workflows and data needs.
Analyze and document end-to-end lab processes, including sample lifecycle, experiments, and results generation.
Identify key data entities, relationships, and dependencies, and analyze data flows across systems.
Perform deep-dive analysis of LIMS, SDMS, and ELN systems to understand data structures, quality issues, and inconsistencies.
Translate business needs into data model inputs, source-to-target mappings, and data definitions, ensuring alignment with governance standards.

What's Needed?

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or Information Systems/Data Analytics with lab experience.
5-10 years of experience in business analysis within lab informatics or scientific data environments.
Hands-on experience with LIMS systems (e.g., LabWare, STARLIMS), SDMS platforms (e.g., BIOVIA, LabVantage), and ELN systems (preferred).
Strong understanding of lab workflows, instrument data capture, and scientific data lifecycle.
Proficiency in requirements elicitation, process modeling, stakeholder engagement, and documentation tools.
