Full Job Description

The Adjunct CNA/LPN Instructor is responsible for delivering pre-developed curriculum to students in the classroom, skills lab, and clinical settings. This role focuses on instruction, supervision, and student support.

Instructors will guide students through course materials, reinforce key nursing concepts, and ensure students demonstrate competency in alignment with state requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-developed curriculum in theory, lab, and clinical settings
Facilitate classroom instruction using provided lesson plans, slides, and materials
Demonstrate and supervise hands-on clinical and lab skills
Monitor and evaluate student performance using established checklists and evaluation tools
Provide real-time feedback, remediation, and coaching to support student success
Maintain accurate records of attendance, skills check-offs, and clinical evaluations
Ensure compliance with IDPH CNA & Illinois Nursing Workforce LPN training requirements and institutional policies
Maintain a safe, professional, and engaging learning environment
Communicate student progress and concerns with program leadership

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois (required)
BSN required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience (teaching experience preferred)
Experience in long-term care, medical-surgical, mental health, OB/Peds and/or clinical instruction
Mental health & OB/Peds a plus
IDPH CNA Instructor Code (preferred)
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Passion for education and student development

Schedule

Daytime Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Flexible adjunct scheduling based on course needs (theory, lab, clinical)
