Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Sterile Processing Technician Instructor to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will lead the training and development of future sterile processing professionals, ensuring they acquire the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in healthcare environments. Your expertise will help shape competent technicians capable of maintaining the highest standards of sterilization, infection control, and patient safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine clinical education with hands-on laboratory experience, fostering growth in adult learners and aspiring healthcare professionals.

Duties

Develop and deliver comprehensive curriculum content on sterile processing procedures, infection control, and hospital protocols using innovative learning technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Conduct classroom lectures, laboratory demonstrations, and clinical simulations to enhance practical skills in sterilization techniques, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and hospital experience.
Supervise students during hands-on training sessions, ensuring adherence to safety standards and proper documentation review processes.
Evaluate student performance through assessments, practical exams, and ongoing feedback to promote continuous improvement.
Collaborate with clinical research teams on projects related to sterilization practices, clinical trials, or public health initiatives within healthcare settings.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and competency documentation in compliance with higher education teaching standards.
Stay current with advancements in laboratory experience, learning technology, and healthcare regulations to ensure curriculum relevance and excellence.

Qualifications

Proven experience in sterile processing or related healthcare fields such as nursing, acute care, or hospital experience.
Supervising experience in educational or clinical settings is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and veterinary terminology (if applicable).
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Blackboard, and other learning technology platforms used for adult education.
Experience in curriculum development for higher education or vocational training programs.
Background in clinical research or clinical trials within healthcare environments is a plus.
Excellent teaching skills with a focus on working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to review documentation thoroughly while maintaining attention to detail in classroom experience settings.
Critical care experience or hospital experience that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of patient care processes is preferred.
