Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time ESL Teacher to inspire and empower adult learners in their journey to achieve English language proficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design engaging lessons, utilize innovative learning technologies, and support diverse student needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and a knack for fostering engaging and interactive conversations in English. As a Conversational ESL Teacher, you will be responsible for conducting conversational classes to help non-native English speakers improve their speaking and listening skills in an enjoyable and supportive environment. We offer ESL classes to our employees who are primarily of Vietnamese decent. Currently offering 3 different levels depending on current English-speaking ability based on verbal assessment. We utilize the Future 2e training model, a six-level, four-skill course, empowers learners with the academic and workforce skills they need to get ahead by helping them transition to further education or career training. We currently offer employees twice a week 1-hour class; 3 different classes each day based on ability of the employee. This would mean work would consist of 6 hours class time and additional paid time for class preparation. 10-15 hours per week.

Duties

Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive conversational lessons that cater to students’ individual needs and language levels.
Create a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere that promotes active participation and effective communication among students.
Utilize a variety of teaching resources, including audio and visual aids, to enhance the learning experience.
Facilitate stimulating discussions on a wide range of topics, such as current events, culture, travel, and everyday life, to improve students' fluency and vocabulary.
Provide constructive feedback and corrective guidance to students to improve their pronunciation, grammar, and overall language proficiency.
Monitor students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student performance.

Skills

Strong expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning for adult education
Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds, including bilingual learners
Experience teaching conversational English to non-native speakers, preferably in a classroom or industrial setting.
Excellent command of the English language, with a strong emphasis on spoken English.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, adaptable, and passionate about teaching English to diverse learners.
