POSITION TITLE: Senior Director of Finance Operations
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Director of Finance Operations is a strategic business partner to the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics. This role ensures financial integrity, drives cost transformation, improves gross margins, and optimizes inventory management across all production sites. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who bridges the gap between plant operations and corporate finance, utilizing data to drive profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- 1. Strategic Financial Partnership & Operational Finance
- Business Partnership: Serve as a key partner to the VP of Operations/Supply Chain, providing insights to optimize production efficiency, cost structures, and network throughput.
- Margin Enhancement: Identify, analyze, and drive cost transformation initiatives and margin improvement projects (pricing, mix, and productivity).
- S&OP Leadership: Active participation in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to ensure financial alignment on revenue, demand, and inventory.
- CAPEX Strategy: Provide financial modeling, ROI analysis, and business case development for capital investments.

2. Manufacturing Costing & Inventory Control
- Standard Costing: Oversee annual standard cost roll, multi-level bills of materials (BOM), direct labor, and overhead absorption.
- Variance Analysis: Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, labor efficiency, yield) and recommend corrective actions to plant management.
- Inventory Management: Strengthen inventory control processes across storage, production, and distribution; lead inventory variance root-cause investigations.
- Product Profitability: Analyze P&L by SKU, brand, and customer to support product portfolio optimization.

3. Planning, Reporting & Compliance
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual operating budget and rolling forecasts for manufacturing and supply chain.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results in accordance with GAAP.
- Internal Controls: Strengthen financial controls, risk management frameworks, and compliance processes to safeguard assets.

4. Leadership & Team Development
- Mentorship: Lead and develop a team of plant controllers, senior analysts, and cost accountants.
- Process Improvement: Drive automation and efficiency in financial processes and reporting systems (e.g., ERP improvements).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior manufacturing finance role (Food & Beverage strongly preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Technical Skills: Expert in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics NAV) and advanced Excel/modeling.
- Functional Knowledge: Deep expertise in standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Leadership: Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

PAY TRANSPARENCY: A reasonable estimate of the available {annual or hourly} pay scale for this position is: $180,000-$185,000 per year + bonus. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
