Full Job Description

Great Lakes Cabinet is looking for an Intermediate Cabinet Designer & Sales Representative to join our established kitchen and cabinetry showroom. This role is ideal for someone with cabinet, kitchen and bath, interior design, or related sales experience who is ready to continue developing their design skills while working directly with clients on real projects.

The right candidate should be comfortable meeting with homeowners, builders, remodelers, and trade clients, learning cabinet product lines, creating layouts and quotes, and helping guide customers through the design and sales process. This position is a good fit for someone who has a solid foundation in cabinetry or design and wants to grow into a stronger designer and sales professional with support from an experienced showroom team.

This is not a cold-call-only sales position. You will have access to existing showroom traffic, referral opportunities, vendor support, cabinet lines, design tools, and internal resources to help you build successful projects and long-term client relationships.

This role offers the opportunity to work on kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, offices, built-ins, and whole-home cabinetry projects while continuing to build your technical knowledge, sales confidence, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

Meet with homeowners, builders, remodelers, and trade clients to understand project needs
Assist clients with cabinet layouts, finishes, door styles, hardware, and design selections
Create cabinet layouts, designs, and quotes using ProKitchen software
Measure spaces or review field measurements for accuracy
Prepare proposals and present design options to clients
Follow up with leads, answer client questions, and help move projects toward sale
Coordinate with vendors, installers, contractors, and internal team members
Manage projects from initial consultation through order placement and handoff
Maintain accurate notes, pricing, measurements, and project details
Continue learning cabinet construction, product specifications, design standards, and installation considerations

Qualifications:

2+ years of kitchen, bath, cabinet, interior design, showroom sales, or related experience preferred
Some cabinet sales or cabinet design experience preferred
Experience with ProKitchen, 2020 Design, Chief Architect, or similar design software is helpful
Basic understanding of cabinet layouts, measurements, construction, and installation considerations
Ability to read plans, take measurements, and create accurate layouts with support as needed
Professional communication and customer service skills
Strong interest in consultative sales and helping clients make confident decisions
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects at once
Comfortable working with homeowners, builders, remodelers, and trade professionals
Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continue developing technical cabinet knowledge

Compensation:

We are open to discussing compensation based on your experience, skill level, and sales background.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
