Job Overview
OPA Behavioral Health is hiring Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns (RMHCI), Registered Clinical Social Work Interns (RCSWI), and Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Interns (RMFTI) to provide outpatient mental health services throughout Florida.
This is a flexible hybrid therapist opportunity designed for clinicians working toward Florida licensure who want to build their caseload while receiving clinical support and supervision. Selected candidates will provide individual, family, and supportive counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults through a combination of in-office and telehealth sessions.

Responsibilities
The Mental Health Therapist Intern will:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health intake assessments
- Provide individual, family, and supportive counseling services
- Provide psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and adults
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based mental health interventions
- Provide crisis intervention and behavioral health support when needed
- Coordinate care with providers and treatment teams
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Complete documentation according to Medicaid and healthcare compliance standards
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms effectively
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional clinical standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida registration as one of the following: Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI), Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI), Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern (RMFTI)
- Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
- Minimum 1 year of mental health, counseling, or clinical experience
- Experience providing services to children, adolescents, and/or adults
- FARS/CFARS certification
- Have Professional Liability Insurance
- Experience with telehealth services and electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
- Reliable internet connection and secure computer/laptop for telehealth services
- Ability to maintain a private, HIPAA-compliant telehealth environment
- Successful completion of required background screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Medicaid documentation requirements
- Experience with outpatient behavioral health services
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, or similar modalities
- Bilingual in English and Spanish

Important Requirement
