Responsibilities:

The Java Developer will support Barrow Wise's State of Illinois project and perform the following duties:

Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java, J2EE, SQL Server, Liferay Portal, DotCMS, ESB, JBSS, Spring, Hibernate, Node JS, Angular JS, and View JS.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement software solutions.
Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal application performance.
Develop and maintain documentation related to application development and changes. - Ensure best practices in software development are followed, including code quality and security.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment and maintenance.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Work remotely, or in Chicago, IL/Rockville, MD

An ideal candidate has the following:

U.S. Citizenship
Bachelor's degree
Six years as a Java Developer, with a solid understanding of Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate); JavaScript, RESTful APIs, Liferay Portal, DotCMS, ESB, JBOSS, Node JS, Angular JS, and View JS..
A passion for problem-solving and a commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
