Software Development Team Lead-Java

Position Overview

The Software Development Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of developers in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-level Java applications. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, ensuring the team produces scalable, high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.

This position plays a key role in guiding architecture, maintaining development standards, and driving execution across the full software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is both a strong technical contributor and an effective team leader who can mentor developers, provide direction, and collaborate across Agile teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of 3 to 5 software developers, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance guidance.
Drive the design and development of complex Java-based applications aligned with business requirements and technical standards.
Provide technical leadership to ensure delivery of scalable, resilient, and maintainable software solutions.
Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to align technical solutions with business goals and project timelines.
Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and maintain high standards of code quality and performance.
Support architectural design decisions and contribute to long-term technical strategy.
Identify opportunities to improve development processes, team efficiency, and overall system performance.
Ensure consistent delivery of projects while balancing team workload and priorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience leading or managing software development teams.
Strong background in programming languages such as Java, Angular, or JavaScript.
Experience developing and mentoring technical teams in a collaborative environment.
Proven experience managing full project lifecycles from concept through delivery.
Strong understanding of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
