Junior Software Developer – AI-focused
Location: Westfield, MA
Work Arrangement: On-site

Our client is building out an AI-focused technology team and is looking to add a junior software developer to their group in Westfield, MA.

This is a strong opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career developer who is curious, motivated, and excited about artificial intelligence, software development, automation, and emerging technology. The hiring team is more focused on finding someone with the right mindset, learning ability, and long-term interest in technology than someone who checks every box on a traditional technical job description.

This position is fully on-site in Westfield, MA. Candidates local to Western Massachusetts, or those with an interest in building their career in the area, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Work with the development team to build, improve, and support internal business applications.
Participate in projects involving software development, automation, AI tools, and process improvement.
Learn and apply technologies such as .NET, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, and related development tools.
Help troubleshoot application issues and contribute to practical solutions.
Collaborate with technical and non-technical team members to understand business needs.
Use tools such as Git, AI coding assistants, and modern development resources to support project work.
Continue developing technical skills through mentorship, hands-on experience, and self-directed learning.

Ideal Background

Recent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field; equivalent project or hands-on experience will also be considered.
Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, generative AI, automation, or emerging technology.
Exposure to software development through coursework, internships, personal projects, GitHub repositories, bootcamps, or early professional experience.
Familiarity with one or more programming languages or development tools.
Interest in experimenting with AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar platforms to learn, build, and solve problems.
Exposure to Python, APIs, SQL, web development, or Microsoft development tools is helpful.
Strong curiosity, communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
