Full Job Description

Willing to train someone who has some machinist or mechanical background.

Seeking 2nd shift (2:30 - 11pm)machinists for Lansing company. YOU WILL TRAIN ON DAYS (6AM TO 2:30PM) AND THEN GO TO 2ND SHIFT. Will have to go through training program. Also willing to pay more for journeyman machinist. Must have a solid work background. CNC Machinist (not machine operator)

Minimum Requirements:

· Certified Journeyman CNC Machinist or have minimum 5 years in the trade (large mill operation preferred).

· Minimum of 2 years in automotive tooling background.

· Motivated individual who is team oriented, shows good judgement and problem-solving skills.

· The ability to read GD&T, drawings, specs, and work instructions.

· The ability to manage multiple tasks.

· The ability to communicate effectively with other shifts during shift hand off.

· The ability to communicate effectively with other departments throughout the shop.

· The ability to collaborate with colleagues of all levels.

Position Responsibilities: General

· Competent to perform the following tasks:

Set up, operate, monitor mill to ATC machining standards

Calculate and set controls to regulate machining parameters (speed, feed, depth and angle of cut)

Select, align, secure work holding fixtures, angle plates, vices, etc.

Verify conformance of finished work piece to specs

Generate tool path for 2D milling

Accurately complete inspection documentation

Load, edit, and monitor CAM generated 3D programs

Deburr and Qualify finish work piece

Read, interpret drawings, SMIRT models, and specs

Proficient in horizontal machine setups

Select, Measure, and program machine tooling

· Competent to operate the following machines and tools:

Controls – Heidenhein / Fanuc / Fidia / Mitsubishi / Okuma / SMIRT

Calipers / Depth Mic’s / Bore Gauges / Inside & Outside Micrometers / Test & Travel Indicators

3 Axis Vertical / Horizontal Mills

Overhead Crane

5 Axis Vertical / Horizontal Mills

Fork Truck

Hand Tools

Secondary Duties:

· Keeps 5S in Work Area

· Promotes Shop Safety

· Supports ATC Quality System

· Follows ATC Die Build Process

· Crib Inventory

· Document Open Issues in the ATC ERP system

· Reviews current manufacturing methods for continuous improvement.Reliable transportation
