The Prince George’s County Police Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a vacant Limited Term Grant Funded (LTGF) Crime Analyst (Programmer Systems Analyst 1G), grade G18 position, in the Major Crimes Division Gun Crime Unit.
About the position
This is entry-level professional work. The incumbents will be assigned to the Gun Crime Unit where they serve as the primary liaison and coordinator between the Gun Crimes Unit, Homicide Unit, and Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) for cases involving violent repeat offenders. The incumbent will analyze and manage data related to violent crimes and offenders to support investigative, intelligence, and enforcement efforts. The incumbent will also utilize advanced knowledge of law enforcement databases to gather, analyze, and disseminate critical information related to violent crime trends, and specific offenders. Additionally, the incumbent will coordinate the PGPD Violent Repeat Offender Program.
The Limited Term Grant Funded positions under the Prince George’s County Violent Crimes Grant support the Police Department’s Violent Crime Reduction Initiative by helping to reduce existing gaps in services and will foster collaboration and cooperation among partner agencies and stakeholders. The program addresses violent crime by targeting and arresting suspects involved in the commission of gun violence, homicides, gang/crew members and associates, and repeat offenders.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications listed below to be eligible for additional consideration:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or business administration.

Six (6) months experience in data processing.
Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered.
