PROJECT MANAGER

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Manager to lead and oversee complex mainframe software migration projects, ensuring successful execution and seamless integration with business processes.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies—including z/OS, AS400, JCL, COBOL, REXX, and SAS—along with a strong background in:

Project management
Stakeholder engagement
Risk assessment
Cost optimization

This role requires exceptional leadership skills to inspire teams, build strong stakeholder relationships, and drive continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage software migration projects on the IBM Z platform
Review project proposals with leadership to define:
- Objectives
- Timelines
- Budget constraints
- Resource allocation
Develop and execute comprehensive project plans
Provide regular updates to leadership on:
- Project progress
- Scope changes
- Risks and challenges
Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients on:
- Milestones
- Status updates
- Risks and mitigation strategies
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
Monitor and enhance program best practices, ensuring continuous improvement in quality and delivery
Support client success with a strong focus on account performance and outcomes
Travel occasionally to client sites across North America (remote role)

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in technical project management
PMP or PRINCE2 certification
Strong understanding of:
- Project management methodologies
- Operational processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience managing cross-functional technical teams, including:
- Scope
- Schedule
- Cost
- Deliverables
Expertise in:
- Planning and tracking
- Change control
- Risk management
Strong negotiation and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to changing environments
Hands-on experience with IBM Z Mainframe systems
Experience working with IBM Z software products and ISV-to-IBM product replacement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in application development on IBM Z, including:
- COBOL
- PL/1

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $32.39/hour - $50.61/hour. Our offered benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
