The PE Supervisor – Central Warehouse position
manages statewide warehouse logistics, inventory control, and headquarters facility maintenancewhile supervising inmate workers.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience for a maximum of four years.

- The PE Supervisor position requires supervising inmate workers and monitoring performance and quality of products produced, ensuring safety, resolving issues and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Instructs and manages inmate workers in stock control, vendor shipment verification, and warehouse sanitation.

Receives institution requisitions, oversees the packaging and shipping of central warehouse goods, and coordinates delivery trucks statewide.

This role requires heavy lifting, assisting with delivery of finished goods and forklift operation is required.

Employee will work for Prison Enterprises (PE), which is a self-funded agency within the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. Headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, it manages over 40 diverse industrial, agricultural, retail, and service operations.

Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.

An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.

This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
