Position Overview

The Video Broadcast Director is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of video production and direction for New Birth Church. This includes live event programming, streaming, weekday and weekend services, and campus-wide events. This position ensures excellence in all video systems and equipment operations, manages creative direction, and oversees scheduling and training of staff and volunteers. The omission of specific duties for this position does not exclude them if the work is similar or related. Other duties may be required and assigned.

The ideal candidate thrives under the pressures of live production, brings a pastoral heart for ministry, and possesses strong technical and leadership skills to ensure the Gospel is communicated with clarity, impact, and cultural relevance.

Key Responsibilities

Stream Management & Leadership

· Oversee live stream management, including encoding, bitrate optimization, platform monitoring, and overall stream health.

· Distribute content to multiple streaming platforms (Resi, YouTube Live, OBS, Facebook Live, TV partners) with consistent quality.

· Collaborate with Worship, Creative Arts, and AVL teams to plan and execute compelling production elements.

· Manage and maintain accurate broadcast schedules.

· Attend all production department meetings and planning calls.

Live Video Director

· Serve as the lead director for live and recorded services and special events.

· Ensure video equipment is fully operational and address any technical issues quickly and professionally.

· Integrate graphics and video elements in coordination with the Strategy & Marketing team.

· Support leadership with equipment bids, vendor coordination, and upgrade planning.

· Recruit, train, disciple, and care for a team of volunteers and technical staff.

· Schedule volunteer, staff, and contractor teams for weekend services and special events.

· Consult and train ministry departments on video best practices.

· Oversee maintenance, operation, and repair of video equipment and infrastructure.

· Support other areas of the Live Production department as needed.

· Oversee video Editor and Graphic designers.

Technical Competency

· Strong understanding of large-scale production environments including rigging, camera blocking, and live show programming.

· Extensive knowledge of television production, HD signal processing, signal theory, and network-based video systems.

· Experience with Blackmagic switchers, projection systems, LED walls, and broadcast video servers.

· Proficient in both macOS and Microsoft Office environments.

· Expert knowledge of video editing tools such as Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Suite.

· Familiarity with encoding software/hardware and streaming tools: Resi, OBS, vMix, Wirecast, etc.

· Calm and adaptive under pressure; able to pivot quickly and meet fast-changing demands.

· Flexible schedule — must be available for evenings, weekends, and special events.

· Reliable transportation required.

· Must be physically able to lift, push, pull, climb, and bend as needed (ability to lift up to 50 lbs. preferred).

Technical Operations & Maintenance

· Maintain all video, broadcast, and streaming equipment to ensure readiness for every service.

· Manage system upgrades, firmware updates, and regular preventive maintenance.

· Work collaboratively with IT/Networking teams to ensure system reliability and optimal streaming performance.

· Implement best practices for video signal flow, redundancy, and quality control.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of professional experience in live video production and broadcast direction (church or live-event environment preferred).

· Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and manage both staff and volunteers.

· Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in live production settings.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Fully aligned with the mission, vision, and values of New Birth Church.

Work Schedule

· Position includes varying work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required. Attendance on Sunday and mid-week church services are required.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
