Full Job Description

Part-Time Researcher – Causal Inference in Practice

The Department of Applied Statistics, Social Sciences, and Humanities at NYU Steinhardt is seeking a part-time researcher to support a study examining how causal inference tools are used in practice.

Responsibilities include:

Cleaning and analyzing data that has already been collected for the study.
Assisting with coordination of the IRB process.
Contributing to writing and preparing study results for dissemination.
Meeting weekly with the faculty supervisor to review progress and plan next steps.

Pay Statement: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is $30 - $40 per hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications:

Strong background in data analysis and familiarity with causal inference methods.
Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, or similar).
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Prior research experience and familiarity with IRB processes preferred.

This is a part-time position aligned with the Part-Time Researcher policy.
