GC - SENIOR MEP PROJECT MANAGER – TRAVELING

Delta Construction Partners is a national executive search firm for the nation's premier electrical and general contractors and industry professionals. Delta has been retained by a confidential client to conduct a search for a Senior MEP Project Manager near Atlanta, with travel requirements throughout the SE USA.

Senior MEP Project Manager Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Management

Develop, coordinate, implement, and manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing facets necessary to construct projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction
Serve as primary leader for construction projects and liaison between project team members and clients
Utilize experience and knowledge to make expeditious decisions and run projects efficiently
Represent the site team in owner meetings and serve as primary client point of contact
Lead meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns

MEP Systems & Coordination

Ensure superintendents have necessary trades, materials, and equipment available to efficiently construct projects
Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to support project schedule delivery and scope commitments
Develop scopes of work for each subcontractor, particularly MEP trades
Perform constructability reviews with focus on MEP systems integration
Identify and resolve field and design issues related to MEP installations
Participate in development of strategic plans including VDC/BIM coordination

Quality & Safety Management

Lead and administer the safety program for the project
Perform and oversee project-specific QA/QC practices to ensure project delivered to specifications and quality standards
Complete walk-throughs of site to ensure safety, cleanliness, and standards are maintained
Participate in ensuring quality control is in accordance with established project quality assurance program
Ensure all work follows established safety procedures and work practices
Assist with administering site safety program and ensuring trade partner compliance with OSHA standards
Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management
Wear and maintain personal PPE and advise fellow employees of hazardous situations

Scheduling & Progress Tracking

Track field progress against the plan and assist in development of recovery plans if necessary
Develop and maintain site logistics plan for projects in conjunction with general superintendent
Arrange and lead preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors prior to beginning each phase of work
Complete and communicate daily reports of scheduled and completed activities along with project progress communications to all stakeholders

Closeout & Administration

Schedule and lead the project closeout process
Coordinate punch list items and procedures
Manage project permit process
Participate in workplace inspections and required/assigned training
Other related duties as needed and assigned in support of successful project completion

Senior MEP Project Manager Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of construction management experience required
Experience managing MEP trades valued at $50MM or greater
Experience with large/complex safety plan implementation
Proven track record of organizing project teams to accomplish project goals
Strong working knowledge of programs such as Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
Effective negotiation and contract management skills
Experience managing projects using established methods of cost reporting (cash flow, safety, cost, schedule, VDC)
Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction with emphasis on MEP systems
Understanding of contract types and terms (General Conditions, Burn Rates, Fee Analysis)
Understanding of various insurance programs (SDI, BR policies, OCIP, CCIP)
Ability to walk, stand, operate tools/equipment, and lift items up to 25 lbs
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
Willingness to travel as required by project needs

Preferred but Not Necessary:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or closely related field (other relevant education, training, or work experience may substitute)
PMP certification
Experience with mission-critical or data center MEP projects
OSHA 30 certification
Experience with Procore or similar construction management software
