Job Description and Responsibilities
TITLE: EQUIPMENT ENGINEER I
DECRIPTION
The equipment engineer I is an entry level position and is responsible for aiding in the maintenance of all MEMS processing and cleanroom-related equipment in order to meet customers’ quality and delivery expectations. Work with senior engineers and equipment engineering technicians to perform preventative maintenance, repair, equipment installation and assists with initial process qualifications. Facilitate the sourcing of and maintenance of spare parts inventory with the assistance from equipment engineering technicians. Will be involved in preparing work documentation such as standard work instructions (SWIs). Work with Equipment Engineer II on maintaining and increasing up time on production tools and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
MACHINE MAINTENANCE, PREVENTIVE MAINTANANCE
- Perform scheduled basic and advanced maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance schedule
- Assist in the performance of unscheduled repairs and maintenance
- Troubleshoot known issues (common failures) and can apply basic troubleshooting techniques for initial diagnosis
- Maintain in good condition and repair machine sub-assemblies and components
- Maintain calibration program for required machine components that require calibration
- Maintain test and metrology equipment
- Act as resource for equipment engineering technicians.
MACHINE INSTALLATION AND QUALIFICATION
- Design changes to existing facilities in order to perform new tool installs including, electrical, plumbing, chemicals, gases, air, exhaust, ducting, etc.
- Obtain bids for outsourced work and manage onsite contractors
- Install and qualify equipment based on IQ, OQ and other requirements
- Consult with, and train process engineers on operation of newly installed equipment
SPECIAL TOOLING AND DESIGN
- Recommend and aid in design of tool modifications that enhance the productivity
- Work closely with process engineers to solve process related issues driven by tool configuration or hardware.
OTHER
- Maintain personal safety equipment related to the job requirements, including respiration equipment and PPE
- Minimum Tier 1 level for LOTO.
- Promote positive company culture and facilitate good communication with all departments
QUALITY
- Maintain integrity of the QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements
- Update SWIs as procedures change and work with Equipment Engineer II and Quality as needed to update other impacted documentation
- Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or 8+ years of hands on work experience in the industry.
- Physical Requirements
- Tasks are performed in a clean room environment with required full cleanroom attire.
- Position requires one to be able to work for extended periods of time on their feet.
