Job description
The Applications Specialist serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the company's Infor CSD ERP system and is responsible for maintaining, configuring, optimizing, and supporting it along with third-party software integrations. This role bridges IT operations and business users, ensuring the ERP system and connected applications function reliably and effectively support business processes across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ERP System Management
- Maintain and optimize the Infor CSD ERP system, including configurations, customizations, and performance tuning.
- Monitor system health, security patches, and updates, coordinating with vendors and IT infrastructure teams.
- Ensure data integrity and perform routine database maintenance tasks.
- Participate in ERP system upgrades, patches, and new module implementations.
Integration Support & Administration
- Design, configure, deploy, and maintain integrations between Infor CSD and third-party systems (Salesforce, e-commerce platforms, EDI, payment processors, pricing engines, etc.).
- Troubleshoot integration failures and data discrepancies across systems.
- Monitor integration performance and optimize data flows for reliability and speed.
- Document integration configurations, dependencies, and troubleshooting procedures.
Technical Support & Problem Resolution
- Provide tier-2 and tier-3 technical support to business users and frontline IT support for application-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve ERP and integration problems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage support tickets, track issues, and communicate status and resolutions to stakeholders.
- Escalate complex issues to vendors or implementation partners when necessary.
User Training & Documentation
- Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for end users on ERP functions and system changes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including process flows, user guides, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support new user onboarding and system access provisioning.
- Answer user questions and provide guidance on best practices for system use.
Process Improvement & Optimization
- Identify opportunities for process automation, efficiency improvements, and streamlined workflows within the ERP system.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements, new integrations, or configuration changes based on business needs.
- Collaborate with department leaders and business users to gather requirements and design solutions.
- Test and validate changes before deployment to production environments.
Change Management & Testing
- Participate in change management processes, including testing, validation, and deployment of system changes.
- Create and execute test plans for ERP modifications and integration updates.
- Maintain change documentation and communicate updates to affected users.
- Perform regression testing to ensure changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
- 3+ years of experience supporting ERP systems; experience with Infor CSD, or other Infor distribution/manufacturing products preferred.
- Knowledge of system integrations, including APIs, EDI, middleware, and ETL tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Solid understanding of database concepts, SQL, and relational data structures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as well as collaboratively.
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
- Infor CSD certification or formal training.
- Experience with integration platforms.
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and order management systems.
- Experience with reporting tools (SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, etc.).

$85,000 - $90,000 Annually based on experience
