Full Job Description

Preston Contractors, Inc., an established and growing company in the Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a General Superintendent to join our team. This position requires a strong technical and practical background in the surface support of underground mining, heavy civil construction, and related fields.

A Qualified Candidate will:

· Be responsible for safety, quality and budgets for their area of mine and construction operations.

· Collaborate with Senior Managers, other Superintendents, and their frontline supervisors to control mine and construction operations.

· Coordinate work according to priorities and plans.

· Allocate daily and general responsibilities in addition to communicating with engineers and management about site projects and progress.

· Responsible for the workers, equipment, tools and materials in mine operations.

· Prepare and approve plans, delegate work to their teams, oversee progress, solve problems, and take corrective action when needed.

· Prepare daily reports and briefs on production, safety, progress on projects and more.

· Lead and participate in meetings and briefings.

· Recruit, hire, train, and develop employees, with support from frontline supervisors and HR Specialists.

· Have a proven safety record, following all company safety policies.

Requirements:

· Minimum 5 years of relevant operations experience as a heavy civil supervisor.

· Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and email.

· Willingness to lead in a diverse environment.

Preferred:

· General understanding of AutoCAD and Field Surveying

· MSHA Part 48 training

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable based on background and years of experience.
