Full Job Description

Under general direction, the N/C Programmer 1 develops CAD surfaces and N/C cutter-path programs for machining production tooling. This role supports large-scale tooling projects by determining machine setups, selecting cutting tools, and establishing efficient machining sequences.

The position ensures compliance with customer standards and internal procedures, completes assignments with minimal supervision, and may review the work of others. Regular communication with internal teams, customers, and management is required to support program execution and maintain accurate status reporting.

Qualifications

Education: General academic education; technical training preferred
Experience: 5+ years in N/C programming, CAD surfacing, and machining of large stamping dies
Software: Working knowledge of Tebis, CATIA V5/V6, NX, Microsoft Office
Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining operations, tooling processes, and customer standards

Key Responsibilities

Develop CAD surfaces and N/C programs for production tooling
Define machine setups, tooling, and machining sequences
Support multi-component tooling programs
Review and validate N/C programs for accuracy, efficiency, and manufacturability requirements
Troubleshoot and modify N/C programs to support tooling changes, tryout, and build issues
Communicate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams
Support continuous improvement initiatives

Additional Information

Impact: Direct impact on tooling quality, machining efficiency, and program timing
Interaction: Frequent collaboration with internal teams and customer representatives
Work Environment: Office-based (DTD) with occasional shop-floor exposure
Supervision: Works under general direction; may mentor less experienced employees
