Full Job Description

Title: Jr. Network Engineer

Engagement Type/Duration: 9mo W2 contract, client goal is to convert to FTE

11 of 19 current members of the network team started on a temp contract and then converted FTE

Location: Philadelphia PA 19104

Some occasional travel to Delaware or Montgomery Counties, will have at least 1wk notice.

Setting: Fully onsite Mon-Fri, core hours day shift

Interview Process: 1 & Done via MS Teams (int times for Weds-Fri this week)

Compensation: $35-40/hr approx, potential flex based on candidate background

Misc:

Onboarding process includes background check, drug test, and health screens
No C2C per our MSA with client, must be on IG's W2. Limited to USC/GC work auth as this client cannot sponsor directly.

Must Haves

GED or High School Diploma
2-3+ years of hands-on network deployment, infrastructure, field engineering, or network support experience
Strong hands-on experience with rack-and-stack, structured cabling, hardware installation, and network equipment deployment
Experience working with network switches, routers, and firewalls
Understanding of routing protocols including BGP & OSPF
Working knowledge of routing and switching concepts
Experience supporting LAN, WAN, WLAN, data, voice, or video network environments
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with networking engineers and infrastructure teams

Plusses

Experience with load balancers
Experience supporting wireless network infrastructure
Understanding of EIGRP routing protocol
Cisco certifications
Healthcare experience

Job Description

A large hospital system is seeking a hands-on Jr. Network Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure projects and network modernization initiatives across its environment. This role is heavily focused on physical network deployments, rack-and-stack activities, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure upgrades supporting hospitals, medical centers, and new construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience performing hands-on network installations, supporting switch and router deployments, replacing end-of-life hardware, and assisting with network refresh projects in complex enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

Support network infrastructure projects related to new hospital construction, facility expansions, and enterprise technology initiatives
Perform hands-on deployment activities including rack-and-stack, cabling, device installation, and hardware implementation
Lead and support network switch refreshes, hardware upgrades, and end-of-life equipment replacement projects
Participate in network build-outs, migrations, cutovers, refreshes, and upgrades across data, voice, and wireless environments
Assist with deployment and support of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and related networking equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve network and hardware issues to keep projects on schedule
Work closely with network engineering teams, project managers, vendors, and business stakeholders during implementations
Create and maintain project documentation, implementation plans, audit records, and network diagrams
Ensure successful execution of infrastructure projects while maintaining operational stability

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
