Are you passionate about caring for patients and supporting families during one of the most important experiences of their lives? As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Obstetrics Unit at The Women's Hospital, you'll play an essential role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care to mothers, newborns, and families throughout their childbirth journey.

Working alongside a highly skilled team of nurses and healthcare professionals, you'll help create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for growing families while gaining valuable experience in a specialized area of healthcare.

What You'll Do

As a valued member of the care team, you'll provide hands-on support that promotes comfort, safety, and positive patient experiences. Responsibilities include:

Assisting patients with personal care needs, including bathing, oral hygiene, toileting, and linen changes
Supporting patient mobility, repositioning, and transfers
Monitoring and documenting vital signs and patient observations
Accurately recording important information in patient charts
Providing compassionate emotional support to patients and families throughout their hospital stay

Your care and attention can make a lasting impact during some of the most memorable and meaningful moments in a family's life.

The OB Unit at The Women's Hospital specializes in both routine and high-risk obstetrical care, providing comprehensive support for mothers, newborns, and families. This dynamic unit offers a unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional maternity care.

Unit highlights include:

Caring for both routine and high-risk pregnancies in a highly specialized environment
Supporting patients through labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care
A modern obstetrical unit featuring 28 private Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) rooms, 10 antepartum rooms, and 2 observation rooms
A single-room maternity care model that promotes continuity of care and enhanced patient experiences
Couplet care, allowing mothers and newborns to remain together while receiving coordinated care
Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with unique medical and obstetrical needs
A strong commitment to family-centered care that addresses the emotional, physical, and psychosocial needs of each family

Qualifications

Required:

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification within six months of hire

Preferred:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
