Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Office Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The position is on-site full time only. The ideal candidate will be responsible for keeping accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions across multiple platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of construction from a sub-contractor's angle, accounting principles, and proficiency in accounting software. The Bookkeeper will play a vital role in providing accurate financial data to support decision-making and ensure the integrity of our financial statements.

Responsibilities

Manage daily bookkeeping operations including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial records.
Process weekly Prevailing Wage payroll and certification.
Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring prompt processing of invoices, payments and collections.
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and other financial tools to record transactions.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and account analysis to support organizational goals.
Support payroll processing and tax preparation activities as needed.
Conduct governmental accounting tasks where applicable and ensure proper documentation for audits.
Experience
Verifiable, current experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a strong understanding of construction accounting practices and the use of QuickBooks for Construction
Knowledge of GAAP principles, double-entry bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation processes
Experience with governmental accounting standards and tax-related activities
Strong understanding of financial concepts such as account reconciliation, account analysis, budgeting, and financial report writing.
Prior experience working in construction accounting environments is required.
