Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist attorneys with all phases of collection litigation matters in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota;
Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, notices, judgment, garnishments, and other legal documents related to collections and creditor remedies;
Prepare and electronically file court documents in state and federal courts;
Coordinate service of process, publication, and recording requirements;
Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and court officials;
Maintain accurate case calendars, deadlines, and case management systems;
Assist with commercial collection matters, including litigation support, discovery, and post-judgment remedies;
Support attorneys in hearings, mediations, and trial preparation as needed;
Draft demand letters and pre-litigation notices; and
Prepare case summaries for attorneys;

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required:

Knowledge of state court filing procedures and electronic filing systems;
Strong understanding of legal processes, and post judgment remedies;
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced legal environment;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Strong attention to detail and organization abilities;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software;
Possess knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training or its equivalent;
Maintain a high level of communication and update the supervising attorney as to the status of the various open matters;
Work requires full-time effort to perform the essential duties of the position;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
Experience in collections, is a plus.
