Full Job Description

Ignite Youth is looking to contract with 1–2 experienced youth pastors or ministry leaders to help create biblically grounded, youth-ministry-friendly sermon builders, leader guides, student resources, and small group materials for churches and youth ministries. This is a project-based independent contract opportunity. Contributors may be assigned specific sermon topics, series themes, leader guide projects, or curriculum resource needs. Work is paid per approved completed project or deliverable.

Content reviewed before approval and payment

Key Responsibilities

Create biblically grounded sermon builders for youth ministry settings
Write clear leader guides that help youth leaders teach and facilitate discussion
Build student-friendly teaching outlines and application sections
Develop age-appropriate discussion questions for middle school and high school students
Create practical illustrations, transitions, activity ideas, and response moments
Write content that is clear, clean, church-friendly, and easy for youth pastors to use
Follow Ignite Youth formatting, theology, and brand guidelines
Submit work by agreed deadlines and revise when reasonable edits are requested
Avoid copying sermons, curriculum, commentary, devotionals, or online content
Create original ministry resources that can be used by Ignite Youth churches

Bible Translation / Scripture Permission Rule

Ignite Youth Co. uses Bible permission Option 1 by default. Contributors should list Scripture references only and should not reproduce full Bible translation text in sermon builders, leader guides, student guides, or curriculum materials unless Ignite Youth Co. leadership has specifically approved the translation permissions.

Use wording such as:

Scripture Reference: John 15:1–8
Leader Instruction: Read John 15:1–8 aloud from the NIV or your preferred Bible translation
Translation Recommendation: NIV

Compensation Details

This is an independent contract opportunity. Compensation varies by project size, deliverable type, deadline, complexity, revision needs, and approval requirements. Contributors may be paid per approved sermon builder, leader guide, student guide, small group question set, full sermon series package, devotional resource, chapel message, camp/retreat lesson, or curriculum bundle.

Pay is not hourly unless specifically agreed to in writing. Assignments, income, and project volume are not guaranteed. All compensation must be approved in writing by Ignite Youth Co. before work begins.

Payment is only made for work that is:

Assigned or approved by Ignite Youth Co.
Submitted by the agreed deadline
Original and not copied from another source
Aligned with Ignite Youth Co.'s Christian mission
Clear, professional, and usable
Revised if reasonable revisions are requested
Approved by leadership or assigned reviewer
Submitted with all required files and documentation

No payment for:

Unapproved work
Duplicate or plagiarized content
Sermons copied from another pastor, church, website, book, curriculum, or AI output
Content using unapproved Bible translation text
Content that violates copyright or theology standards
Content inappropriate for youth ministry
