Full Job Description

Technology Coordinator/Computer Teacher

St. Jude School, located in South Bend, is a vibrant school community with 238 students Pre-K through 8th grade. We have one class for each grade level, with a strong special education department that makes St. Jude a place for all children to learn.

We are seeking a computer teacher/ technology coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year. Position can be full or part time.

Essential Responsibilities

Instructional Duties

Plan and teach technology/computer classes aligned with school curriculum and grade-level standards from the Indiana Department of Education.
Teach foundational computer skills including keyboarding, digital citizenship, coding, research skills, internet safety, multimedia creation, and productivity tools.
Integrate faith-based values and Catholic teachings into lessons when appropriate.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Maintain a positive, engaging, and structured classroom environment.
Assess student progress and communicate achievement with students, parents, and administration.
Incorporate project-based learning and creative technology applications.
Oversee state testing

Technology Integration & Support

Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate technology into core subject areas.
Assist faculty with educational technology tools and resources.
Promote responsible and ethical use of technology among students.
Help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through technology.
Stay current with emerging educational technologies and best practices.

Classroom & Equipment Management

Maintain organization and care of computer lab devices, equipment, and instructional materials.
Report technology issues and assist with basic troubleshooting when appropriate.
Ensure safe and appropriate student use of school technology and internet resources.
Monitor student adherence to acceptable use policies.

Catholic School Responsibilities

Support and uphold the philosophy, mission, and teachings of the Catholic Church and school community.
Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, retreats, and Catholic school activities.
Model Christian values and positive professional conduct.
Foster respect, kindness, and service within the classroom community.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
Valid teaching license/certification preferred but not necessary
Experience working with elementary-aged children
Knowledge of educational technology platforms, Google Workspace, coding programs, and digital learning tools.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.

Physical Requirements

Ability to supervise students in a classroom/lab setting.
Ability to lift and move light technology equipment if necessary.
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
