Full Job Description

Location: Bedford, MA
Shift: 6am-2:30pm M-F
Pay: $18-$24/h DOE
Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire
Benefits: Health and life insurance, 401k, sick time as required by state law

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Assembler to join our manufacturing client's production team. This role supports increased customer demand and offers exposure to both mechanical and electrical assembly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions
Assemble mechanical and electrical components to customer specifications using hand tools and power tools
Solder cables, wires, and through-hole devices to acceptable quality standards
Operate pass/fail test equipment and inspect finished products for non-conformances
Identify and report defects or process issues to supervisors and quality staff
Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components to ensure optimal performance
Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with 5S standards
Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures and protocols
Provide feedback on assembly procedures and support continuous process improvement
Support and mentor Level I assemblers as experience grows

Required Qualifications

Previous assembly experience preferred, 1+ YOE for level 1, 3-5 YOE for level 2
Must pass ITAR compliance
Ability to read assembly drawings and work instructions (English required)
Proficient with hand tools and power tools; high attention to detail and precision
Familiarity with ESD principles, 5S standards, and basic QMS concepts (ISO 9001 a plus)
Experience with opto-electronics, PCB commodities, or lean manufacturing environments a plus
IPC soldering certification preferred (IPC-610)
Strong communication and teamwork skills across functions
