SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and strengthening community partnerships throughout the Rio Grande Valley to increase material donations and expand Goodwill Industries of South Texas' presence within the community. This position focuses on cultivating relationships with civic organizations, schools, businesses, faith-based organizations, employers, residential communities, and other strategic partners to secure material donations and ongoing donation opportunities. The Community Engagement Manager also represents Goodwill at chamber of commerce meetings, networking events, and community organizations to build awareness, identify new partnership opportunities, and strengthen Goodwill's visibility throughout the region. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to relationship building, community outreach, and partnership development while consistently demonstrating Goodwill's core values of Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES
Material Donations Acquisition
- Develop, coordinate, and implement strategies and tactics for material donations acquisition, including the cultivation and management of Mission Multipliers Pro partnerships. Successfully acquire donations from corporations, civic organizations, employers, residential communities and other strategic groups throughout our region.
- Manage community partnerships, donation acquisition efforts, and ongoing stewardship activities.
- Using data provided, identify preferred locations for donation stations and donation boxes.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with Mission Multipliers schools, youth organizations, Girl Scouts and other partners throughout the territory. Coordinate donation drives, presentations, and other engagement opportunities as needed.
Community Engagement
- Maintain and grow partnerships within the Rio Grande Valley region.
- Attend events hosted by these groups and find ways for Goodwill to share and further its mission.
- Conduct presentations for groups in the public and private sector, as well as the community at large for the purpose of education, awareness building, and marketing that are aligned to that group’s values/interests.
- Constantly look to bring new, fresh ways to connect with the community.
- Identify and recruit prominent community members for Lunch and Learns.
- Maintain positive and supportive relationships with schools, student organizations, scouts, and other youth-driven programs to empower the next generation of donors.
Leverage the Mission Multipliers and Mission Multipliers Pro programs to coordinate donation-related events and activities.

Administrative
- Identify donation station and donation box locations based on data provided.
- Identify and coordinate initiatives with neighborhoods and communities for donation acquisition.
- Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and execution of community engagement initiatives, including Mission Multipliers, Mission Multipliers Pro, donation drives, presentations, and partner meetings.
- Maintain partnership documentation, including Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), impact reports, donation drive records, data tracking, and other program-related reports.
- Keep accurate records via database websites, user-accounts and monthly reports.
Assist with the planning and execution of special events, community outreach initiatives, and other duties as directed or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any of the following may be used to qualify:
· Bachelor’s degree and 1 (one) year related experience
· Associate degree and 3 (three) years related experience
· High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 (five) years related experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Fluent in the Spanish language; both written and verbal.
- Valid Driver's License, clean driving record and carry minimum liability coverage as required by the State of Texas. Pass criminal background check and Drug/Alcohol test.
- Ability to travel independently to worksites and business meetings.
- Passion for building social communities.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize task completion. Ability to meet deadlines with quality results often in situations of high urgency.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
· Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality of work or accuracy.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as required.
