ABOUT THE ROLE
The Principal Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure Project Information Management Specialist (MAOP PIMS) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing project information management, document control, MAOP verification, and deliverable management for large-scale infrastructure projects.
This individual ensures the integrity, completeness, and quality of project records throughout the entire project lifecycle. The role supports both general project documentation—such as estimates, bid packages, and correspondence—and critical asset records, including testing documentation, as-built drawings, and material and equipment records.As a core member of multiple project and program teams, this position plays a vital role in ensuring project documentation meets established requirements for execution, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset reliability. The Principal PIMS also provides leadership, oversight, and mentorship across documentation processes and deliverables.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead development, implementation, and execution of the Project Deliverable Management Plan, ensuring alignment with company manuals, requirements, and specifications
- Establish and enforce document control and quality standards across internal and external stakeholders
- Collect, organize, and validate project documentation to ensure completeness, traceability, and alignment with project specifications
- Review project records (engineering packages, alignment sheets, pressure test packages, bills of material, material test records, etc.) to identify deficiencies and drive resolution
- Track deliverable issues, recommend solutions, and escalate as needed to maintain project schedule and quality objectives
- Partner with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to project governance processes, stage-gate requirements, and deliverable milestones
- Monitor deliverable performance metrics, including timeliness, quality, and rework/rejection trends, and provide actionable insights
- Implement and maintain tools and processes to track deliverable status, reporting, and execution efficiency
- Ensure project documentation is complete and validated for turnover/close-out, meeting all downstream stakeholder and asset owner requirements
- Provide leadership, oversight, and mentorship to PIMS I, PIMS II, and Senior PIMS team members
- Oversee documentation including engineering drawings, construction records, material documentation, testing and inspection records, and other required project artifacts
WHAT YOU BRING
- Strong foundation in document control, driving structured frameworks and ensuring effective management of high-volume documentation across multiple teams and departments
- Experience managing construction documentation (non-field/site-based)
- Background in natural gas, large facilities, or similar environments requiring complex documentation management
- Understanding and application of MAOP and project information management princi
- Proficiency in project information systems and tools such as Procore or other Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), SharePoint, and Excel
- Ability to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of complex project documentation
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects and supporting cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and maintain compliance with project standards
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor junior team members
- College-level reasoning through formal education or equivalent work experience
