Overview

Grand Marais State Bank is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Bank Teller to join our team. In this vital role, you'll deliver exceptional customer service while efficiently processing daily transactions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career in financial services while contributing to our mission of community-focused banking experiences.

Duties

Handle cash transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments, ensuring proper cash drawer management and balancing at shift end
Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and guiding clients through banking products and services
Promote and upsell banking products such as loans, credit cards, savings accounts, and investment options to meet customer needs
Detect and prevent fraud by monitoring transactions for suspicious activity and adhering to industry-specific financial compliance protocols
Manage customer relationships through effective relationship management techniques, fostering trust and loyalty
Utilize Microsoft Office tools and banking software to maintain accurate records, process transactions efficiently, and generate reports as needed

Experience

Proven experience in customer service within a financial or banking environment preferred
Familiarity with cash handling procedures, cashiering, and basic math skills such as retail math and industry-standard calculations (debits & credits)
Knowledge of banking products, financial regulations, and compliance standards essential for ensuring secure operations
Technical proficiency with banking software systems, Microsoft Office applications, and cash management tools required
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in diverse customer interactions
Ability to perform detailed tasks such as 10-key typing quickly and accurately while maintaining focus on accuracy and compliance

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
