Full Job Description

Job Overview

A Positive Life Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Work Intern/volunteer to join our team and gain practical experience in the field. This individual will work under the supervision of a licensed social worker to provide support and assistance to individuals, families, and/or communities in need. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to develop professional skills, learn about social work practice, and make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Responsibilities

Assist with client intake and assessment processes.
Provide supportive counseling and case management services to clients.
Conduct home visits or outreach activities as needed.
Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
Assist with the development and implementation of program activities.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
Research and connect clients with community resources.
Advocate for clients' needs and rights.
Assist with data collection and program evaluation.
Adhere to ethical standards and professional boundaries.
Other duties as assigned by the supervising social worker.

Experience

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's level Social Work program at an accredited university.
Strong interest in social work and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical boundaries.
Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if required for home visits or outreach).
Proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
