Full Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and client-specific safety requirements. This position promotes a proactive safety culture across all office, warehouse, and jobsite operations while partnering with field leadership to minimize risk, prevent incidents, and support successful project execution. The Safety Manager serves as a key resource for employees, project teams, and leadership by providing training, coaching, auditing, and guidance on safe work practices within the electrical construction industry.

Essential Duties

Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, state regulations, and customer-specific safety requirements.
Maintain and update the company Safety Manual and related documentation.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to enhance safety performance.
Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements.
Assist project teams in developing site-specific safety plans, Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
Develop and deliver safety orientation programs for new hires.
Coordinate and conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and continuing education programs.
Ensure employees maintain required certifications and qualifications.
Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage events.
Determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Manage OSHA logs, recordkeeping, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Support insurance audits, client safety audits, and regulatory inspections.
Track and report safety metrics, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Prepare safety performance reports for executive leadership.
Champion a culture where safety is a core value throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Minimum 5–10 years of construction safety experience, preferably within the electrical construction industry.
Experience managing safety programs across multiple active construction projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction operations, hazards, and safety regulations.
Computer and technology skills with emphasis on mobility (preferably Apple iOS).

OSHA 500 Trainer Certification
OSHA 30-Hour Construction
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
NFPA 70E Training Certifications
