Organizational Overview; Healthcare Pathway Advocates (HPA) is a transformative initiative aimed at addressing healthcare workforce shortages in California's rural and underserved Mother Lode Region. Through partnerships with high schools, postsecondary institutions, and healthcare providers, HPA equips students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary for in-demand allied health careers. The program’s innovative model supports seamless transitions from high school to postsecondary education and into the allied health workforce, breaking down barriers and fostering economic mobility.To sustain and expand this impactful work, HPA seeks a highly skilled Grant Writer who will identify, secure, and manage funding opportunities to support program growth and sustainability.Position SummaryThe Grant Writer will lead the identification, preparation, submission, and management of grant proposals and funding applications for HPA. This critical role involves collaborating with the Executive Director, the leadership team, and external partners to align funding opportunities with the organization’s mission and goals. The Grant Writer will also play a key role in developing reporting mechanisms to demonstrate program outcomes, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and maintaining relationships with funding entities.Key ResponsibilitiesGrant Research and Identification

Identify and research grant opportunities from federal, state, and local government agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors aligned with HPA’s mission and strategic objectives.
Monitor trends in healthcare education, workforce development, and rural health funding to identify viable funding sources.

Proposal Development and Submission

Write and submit persuasive, high-quality grant proposals detailing HPA’s mission, impact, and funding needs.
Coordinate with the Executive Director and leadership team to gather programmatic, financial, and evaluation data to craft compelling narratives.
Ensure all proposals adhere to funder requirements, deadlines, and submission guidelines.

Grant Management and Compliance

Maintain a detailed grant calendar, tracking submission deadlines, reporting obligations, and renewal opportunities.
Develop and submit high-quality grant reports to funders, demonstrating program outcomes and compliance with funding terms.
Collaborate with the leadership team to manage grant budgets and ensure proper allocation of funds.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with California’s healthcare workforce initiatives, including recommendations from the California Future Health Workforce Commission and Gavin Newsom’s Master Plan for Career Education.
Experience working with programs targeting underserved or rural populations.
Knowledge of career technical education (CTE) programming and Perkins Act funding.

Pay: $37.00 - $50.00 per hour

Work Location: Remote
