Job Overview

At Intent Built, we build with purpose - and with INTENT! We are a commercial general contractor delivering high-quality projects across commercial, office, residential, hospitality, restaurant, and specialty build-out markets. www.intentbuilt.com.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive team member who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to multiple facets of our business. This role, Accounting Specialist, will be an integral part of our accounting team with additional involvement in company-wide operations.

Responsibilities

General Accounting

Code AP invoices and process subcontractor pay applications.
Reconcile credit card transactions.
Track lien waivers.
Assemble weekly payment runs.
Prepare client invoices
Assist Controller with various accounting functions.

Project Coordination

Support project managers and field staff with daily operations and needs.
Maintain project files in Procore, Premier, and SharePoint folders to ensure stakeholders always have the latest information.
Subcontractor/vendor onboarding, compliance tracking, client setup.
Job setup and budget uploads.

Office and Other

Process incoming and outgoing mail
Order and maintain office supplies
Other duties as required

Experience

3+ years experience with AR and AP processing in the construction industry.
Proficiency in Excel and aptitude for learning new platforms.
Clear written/verbal communication, strong attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple active projects.
Preferred - AS/BS in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or similar - or equivalent field experience.
Proficiency in account reconciliation, cost management, and financial analysis.

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of job cost software (e.g., Premier Construction Software, Procore Financials, Sage 300 CRE, QuickBooks Online or equivalent).
Understanding of percentage of completion revenue recognition.
