Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

CoBeck Construction was started in 2012 and is a partnership formed from a vision, shared values and friendship. We’ve built a general contracting business with a solid foundation to get the job done. 85% of our business is derived from existing or referral client relationships.

Summary

Are you ready to build projects that make an impact across the country? We are looking for a driven, organized, and career-focused Project Engineer to join our growing commercial construction team. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging, high-profile commercial projects throughout the United States while gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents. New college graduates are encouraged to apply.

· As a Project Engineer, you'll play a vital role in every phase of construction—from preconstruction planning to project closeout—helping deliver quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Duties and Responsibilities

· Partner with Project Managers to keep projects on schedule, on budget, and on point

· Determine project specifications and acquire the necessary materials for completion.

· Assist with budgeting, cost tracking and invoice review

Identify project responsibilities, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate personnel.
Develop and control the full project-plan lifecycle.

· Assist the construction project managers to establish project objectives, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.

· Prepare scheduled and necessary updates of construction activities and analysis of manpower and equipment required.

· Keep communication flowing between office, field and clients

· Manage compliance, quality control, and quality assurance standards and specification.

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

· Travel Extensively throughout the United States to support active construction projects.

Requirements and Qualifications

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

· Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving.

· Able to proactively address issues.

· Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

· Resourceful and highly motivated with a strong work ethic.

· Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to the team’s success.

· Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Required Knowledge, skills and abilities

· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field or in lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

· Demonstrated computer proficient (MS Office)

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Experience with construction management software Bluebeam, Procore, CMIC preferred

· Valid Driver’s license

· Ability to travel throughout the U.S. and remain onsite for the duration of a project. Travel allowance is provided for return trips every two weeks. When not traveling, this position is based in St. Paul, MN.

Ability to clearly communicate information written and verbal to colleagues and clients
This role regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and fax machines. This position requires the ability to lift files and open file cabinets
Use a computer and or iPad in open office environment with natural and or fluorescent lighting.
Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.

· This position may occasionally lift 15 pounds.

Salary Range

$65,000 to $85,000 annually, plus auto allowance and discretionary bonus. Per Diem when traveling for meals and hotels.

Pay is based upon many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications and other business needs.
