Full Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Proposal Writer to join our team and play a critical role in winning new business. In this position, you will be responsible for developing compelling, compliant, and competitive proposals in response to government and/or private sector solicitations. You will work closely with business development, operations, and subject matter experts to craft narratives that clearly communicate our capabilities, experience, and value to clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the end-to-end development of proposals, including RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, sources sought responses, and capability statements.
Review and analyze solicitation documents to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, and compliance obligations.
Write, edit, and proofread proposal content including executive summaries, technical narratives, management plans, past performance write-ups, and resumes.
Coordinate with subject matter experts, project managers, regional managers, and executives to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.
Maintain and update a library of reusable proposal content, boilerplate language, personnel resumes, and past performance references.
Ensure all proposals are submitted on time, formatted correctly, and fully compliant with solicitation requirements.
Support after-action reviews and incorporate lessons learned into future proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
3–5 years of proposal writing experience, preferably in a government contracting, emergency management, construction, or professional services environment.
Demonstrated experience writing winning proposals in response to federal, state, or local government solicitations.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, persuasive narrative.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Adobe InDesign or other desktop publishing tools a plus.
APMP certification a plus.
