Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Purchasing Agent, where you will play a pivotal role in managing our procurement processes and ensuring the seamless flow of materials within our supply chain. You will leverage your expertise in sourcing, negotiation, and inventory management to optimize purchasing strategies and drive efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our operational success while collaborating with various departments to meet organizational goals.

What you’ll do

Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives.
Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.
Manage inventory levels through accurate forecasting and materials management practices.
Utilize ERP systems, including SAP and JD Edwards, to track orders and maintain procurement records.
Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate existing vendor performance.
Monitor purchasing trends and adjust strategies accordingly to optimize costs.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers while ensuring compliance with contracts.

Basic qualifications

Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles within a supply chain environment.
Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP ERP, Oracle EBS, or AS400.

Preferred qualifications

Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
Familiarity with materials requirements planning (MRP) and inventory control techniques.
Experience in e-commerce purchasing processes and merchandising strategies.
Knowledge of production planning principles and logistics management.
