Full Job Description

Quality Control Associate Position Summary

Bemsco Defense Products Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Associate to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of precision-machined aerospace and defense components. The ideal candidate will perform inspections throughout the manufacturing process to verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and AS9100 quality standards while supporting our commitment to producing flight-critical components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections of machined aerospace components and assemblies.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
Read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, thread gauges, and other inspection tools.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation.
Assist with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with customer requirements.
Identify, document, and help resolve nonconforming material using established quality procedures.
Work closely with machinists, engineering, and production personnel to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.
Assist with maintaining calibration records for inspection equipment.
Support internal and external audits, including AS9100 and customer audits.
Help maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, and other applicable aerospace quality requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Due to the nature of the work performed at Bemsco Defense Products Inc., this position requires access to export-controlled information. In accordance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person, as defined by ITAR, to be considered for employment.

Preferred

Previous experience in manufacturing quality control.
Experience inspecting precision-machined aerospace components.
Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), preferably Zeiss.
Familiarity with or experience using Zeiss Calypso software.
Familiarity with First Article Inspections (FAI) and aerospace documentation.
Experience working in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Ability to perform repetitive hand movements while using precision measuring equipment.
Ability to distinguish small features and measurements during inspection.
